Coffee Roasting

Over the past year, I’ve entered into the realm of home coffee roasting.  No matter what Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, or the local coffee shop tells you, a person can roast their own coffee at home and make a better cup of coffee.

Dealing with DC Cabbies

To begin, I have never had a problem with a DC cabbie while I was in the cab.   DC cabbies have provided me with great service and great conversation on route to my destinations.

My run-ins with DC cabbies occur while I am commuting by bicycle in the District.  Apparently, bicycles enrage some cabbies.   It brings out a vitriol that is best saved for the guy that stole your girlfriend, or the girlfriend that stole your dog.  Many feel the need to act aggressively around us.  It’s something that I don’t understand.  I follow the traffic laws.  I wait for lights.  I move over when it is safe to allow cars to pass.

Anyhow, I was on the receiving end of one cabbie’s aggression. One day last week, I exited Lafayette Square and headed north on 16th street.  Now, 16th is a two-way thoroughfare with two lanes in either directions; but, there’s a catch.  Cabbies like to illegally  stop in the curbside lanes  waiting for fares from nearby hotels like the St. Regis.  Other cars and bicycle commuters have to swerve around them.

On my way north, I noticed a brown cab stopped in the opposite side curbside lane.  I am very observant and as I a proceeded, I noticed that the cabbie performed a  u-turn to come up behind me.  I crossed Eye street and approached the St. Regis Hotel.  Cabs were blocking my curbside lane so I went around them.  There was less than a quarter block until K street and the light was red.  I was cruising at about 15 mph when the brown cab passed me on the left and swerved into my lane stopping hard behind another car stopped at the light.  No signal, no safety, no nothing (deliberate word choice).

However, this drug class enhances viagra for free cyclic GMP to relax the muscle vessels so that blood flow into the penis and if the blood does not flow very easily out from the penis. And the poll asked respondents whether they felt viagra sale cheap their psychological needs were satisfied. Hence this product is quite effective as well as safe in 2007, that form of treatment has grown in popularity. buy cialis As some medications are not suitable for treating erectile dysfunction in men of any age. additionally, as it naturally increases testosterone levels, improves endurance and boosts sexual stamina, it can be safely used by anyone, young and old alike, looking a more active sex life, even if they don’t actually suffer buy cialis foea.org from impotence or ED. I had to hit my brakes so as not to hit the cab.  I was mad but thought, “I’ll just go around the guy to the head of the line at the light.”  It’s legal and I don’t feel like wasting my emotions on him.

As I pass him on the right, I hear the lecture, “Hey Man the light is red, not green!”  Picture the Dude from the Big Lebowski driving that cab.  That approached the education level that oozed from this cabbie.

No witty comeback.  No Lebowski quote, “Yeah, well, you know, that’s just, like, your opinion, man!”  No, I just proceeded down the street, never to see that cabbie again ???

I’ve learned it’s best to  ignore most of the nutty guys around here.  I’ll just use this blog as my catharsis.   Just remember friends, beware of the Lebowski brown cab!!
